Putting Students First

My priorities are:

The physical and mental health of students and staff – I will take all reasonable measures to prevent the spread of Covid 19.
Curriculum development – I will push back on the newly proposed curriculum that has been condemned by the Alberta Teachers Association.
Supports for students with special needs – We need to work to remove barriers in our schools, anticipate student’s needs, build capacity and collaborate for success.
Capital management – We must optimize every dollar to ensure the greatest educational benefit to our students.
Professional development – Lifelong learning isn’t only for our students; the pandemic has created opportunities for subject matter experts to deliver their knowledge remotely to our school district.

Safe and caring school environments that encourage citizenship and character development regardless of a student or teachers' gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity, faith or ability;
Reinstatement of the Program Unit Funding for students with complex needs in Kindergarten;
Enhanced community engagement;
A complete rewrite of the UCP’s proposed draft curriculum, to be developmentally appropriate, and reflect Alberta’s diversity;
The unions who take care of our staff;
Additional funding to be directed towards our fine arts programs; and
An end to teachers having to pay out of pocket for classroom learning tools.
